Started in September of 2008, the philosophy of the atelier is based on the premise that everyone is a creative being . The foundations of drawing and painting are explored as students have a variety of creative experiences chosen to intentionally shift current perceptions and beliefs. Traditional, classical and innovative exercises are incorporated into the program to constantly expand and challenge one's current mindset.
"I tell the students that they are constantly creating new neural pathways (new brain cells) as they are being faced with challenges that engage the mind and spirit."
Learning how to draw is really about learning to see.
Once that begins to happen the effects filter into other areas of one's life. One is nudged to start thinking in new ways,
moving closer to thinking outside the box.
